Prabhjot Singh, President psingh@cmcc.ca Prabhjot Singh is a 4th year student at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Her alma mater is Simon Fraser University (SFU) where she received a Bachelor’s of Science (Honors) in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation. After being a part of the Student Canadian Chiropractic Association (SCCA) for the past 2 years, Prabhjot is now the council's President. Her goal is to support the student chiropractic community in preparing for clinic by providing various resources for success. Prabhjot grew up in Vancouver, BC, and in her free time you can find her camping, hiking, biking, swimming, or spending time with her puppy Leia.
Kyla Meadley, Vice President KMeadley@cmcc.ca Kyla Meadley is a 3rd year student at CMCC. Before starting at CMCC, Kyla had many academic endeavors, most recently obtaining a Master of Science in Global Health at McMaster University. Kyla is excited to continue the roll of CMCC Talks Director this year, and has also taken on the roles of SCCA Treasurer, and Vice‐Chair of the SCCA National Board. She is confident that her past life experiences will allow her to be a key contributor to the SCCA both on campus and nationally. When she isn’t studying, Kyla can be found running, cycling, and spending time at her second home on Lake of Bays.
Lauren Fauchon, Member at Large lfauchon@students.uws.edu Lauren Fauchon (She/Her) is entering her final year as a student at University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. She is completing her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree as well as a Master of Science in Sports Medicine. She grew up in West Kelowna, B.C and completed her undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a Concentration in Life Sciences from SFU. Lauren was a competitive swimmer and a member of the Varsity team at SFU. This is Lauren's first year involved with the SCCA and she is excited to assist students transition into practice. In her free time Lauren enjoys swimming, cycling, weightlifting, hiking, travelling, cooking, and baking and enjoying the food scene in Portland.
Kaitlyn Newton, Member at Large knewton4@s.nycc.edu Kaitlyn Newton started her journey in her hometown of Manitouwadge, Ontario. Growing up, Kaitlyn was a very active child both in sports and in her community, which escalated her affinity for aiding people in the areas of health and fitness. She went on to obtain her undergraduate degree, an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. From there, she went on to obtain her personal training certification working with her clients to gain the quality of life they were striving towards. In doing so, she often worked with other health professionals so her clients could receive optimal care. Kaitlyn believes that a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare is the best model for all patients to receive excellent care. She then went to the New York Chiropractic College, where she is currently studying to obtain her Doctor in Chiropractic as well as a Masters in Clinical Nutrition. She currently sits on the SCCA-NYCC board and is striving to create more opportunities for the Canadian students studying abroad as well as create resources for these students who intend on practicing in Canada. Kaitlyn believes that being active in your school environment as well as your community and seeking out every learning experience by shadowing other doctors and attending seminars is how to strive for greatness and provide patients with the best care in the future.
Alison Dantas, MA, C. Dir. CEO, Canadian Chiropractic Association, Treasurer adantas@chiropractic.ca Alison Dantas is a seasoned, gifted and award-winning healthcare professional. Prior to joining the Canadian Chiropractic Association in 2012 as Chief Executive Officer, she spent over a decade as CEO of the Ontario Associationof Naturopathic Doctors, was Executive Director of the Association of Ontario Midwives, and has significant experience in government, social services, community support services, and social housing. She has also spent the past 25 years offering her extensive skills as a volunteer to a wide variety of organizations.
Dr. Ayla Azad, CXO, Canadian Chiropractic Association, Member at Large aazad@chiropractic.ca Dr. Azad graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic (USA) and completed her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Athabasca University. Dr. Azad was in private practice at Total Rehab, a multi-disciplinary rehab clinic in Ajax, Ontario from 1999 to 2020. During that time, she was also teaching at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in the Chiropractic Therapeutics, Principles and Practice and Clinical Education Departments. Dr. Azad has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Chiropractic Association, serving as President and Chair of the Board from 2015 to 2017, and has served on the Board for the Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation and the World Federation of Chiropractic. Dr. Azad began working at the CCA, in 2020 and is the Chief Experience Officer.
